Grandpa and Grandma

Emma, after bedtime prayers, asked, "Mommy, are Grandpa and Grandma close?

"No, they all live far away."
"But they are close in our hearts. Right, Mommy?"

Emma has no idea that my mom is currently in the hospital with a broken hip, cracked ribs, and a suspicious growth on her thyroid. Emma's words almost made me cry that night.

--then she asked...
"But they are on this planet, right?"
